Caring for workers through "Union Meal"
Implementing the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), in the past two months, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation has been strongly implementing the "Union Meal" program to grassroots unions.
The Trade Union of Foster Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. is one of the first units in Binh Duong ward to organize this activity in 2025. The unit coordinated with the company's Board of Directors to organize the "Union Meal" program for about 750 workers and laborers. Each portion is worth 50,000 VND, including storage items, stir-fries, fried foods, soups, and desserts.
According to the Trade Union of Foster Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd., the Trade Union and the company are very interested in and focus on shift meals for workers. Meals are always of good quality so that workers can eat well and participate in production. Each shift meal at the company is worth 27,000 VND. To make the portion of food better quality, the company has 4 special shift meals per month, each additional portion is worth 35,000 VND.
Meanwhile, in Tan Hiep ward, the Trade Union of Cua It Aiao Technology Co., Ltd. has proposed and received approval from the business leaders to organize a "Union Meal" periodically once a month. The normal shift meal is 28,000 VND/meal, "Union Meal" is worth up to 120,000 VND/meal. The meal has many new dishes such as roast pork, roast chicken, ham, soft drinks, fruit. In July 2025, the Trade Union organized 2 programs and in August 2025, it organized 1 program.
"The company still faces many difficulties in the general context of the world, but always cares for and looks after its employees. In particular, the union and the company focus on the health of workers through shift meals. Every month, the Trade Union organizes meals with increased portions to help workers stay healthy and strive to produce well" - Ms. Le Thi Huong - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Cua It Aiao Technology Company Limited - said.
Increasing welfare for workers
According to Ms. Le Thi Huong, in the recent past, the work of workers has been very steady, with overtime. Workers have an average monthly income of over 10 million VND, in some cases reaching 15 million VND/month.
In addition to organizing the Union Meal, Cua It Aiao Technology Co., Ltd. also increases benefits for employees.
On the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2025), the Trade Union organized a donation of 150,000 VND to each union member, and at the same time, presented gifts of gratitude to union officials who have accompanied the Trade Union to care for workers.
Notably, the Trade Union of Cua It Aiao Technology Co., Ltd. has proposed to the company a bonus of September 2 to encourage all employees during the country's major holidays. Currently, the company's Board of Directors has decided to give each worker 700,000 VND, technical staff 1.2 million VND, team leader 1.6 million VND, and office staff 1.8 million VND.
In Ben Cat ward, Gang Viet Joint Stock Company maintains stable jobs and income for employees from 8.5 million VND/month or more. The Trade Union also recommended that the company have more policies and benefits for employees. The company maintains monthly savings bonuses, holiday bonuses, and Tet bonuses. Notably, for workers living far away, the company has free dormitories.
The Trade Union of Geng Viet Joint Stock Company said that in addition to salary and bonus according to the company's regulations, the trade union also has policies to care for employees such as giving gifts on holidays and birthdays. The union also organizes a cultural and spiritual sports playground for workers. The unit has just organized a Union Meal for 600 workers with each meal worth 60,000 VND.
According to the Trade Union of Geng Viet Joint Stock Company, the above activities, in order to stabilize the existing labor force, will at the same time, through policies to care for workers, attract new workers. Currently, the company is expanding the factory, many production lines will be put into operation by the end of 2025. The company is recruiting 50 more workers and about 100 staff and technical positions.
