The decision to award the title of Labor Hero to former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh was signed by Politburo member and President Luong Cuong.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh was awarded the title of Labor Hero for "her great contributions to the foreign affairs sector, contributing to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation".
The title award ceremony took place within the framework of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the diplomatic sector of Vietnam (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025) and received the First Class Labor Medal title.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh shared: "In my opinion, the negotiation between us and the US at the Paris conference to discuss the end of the war in Vietnam is a particularly important event in the 20-year history of the diplomatic sector.
At the 4-party negotiations, we have 2 delegations: the Democratic delegation of Vietnam to the Republic led by Minister Xuan Thuy and Special Advisor Le Duc Tho. The second delegation is the Provisional Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam led by me.
The two groups have coordinated closely, overcome all difficulties and operate very actively. After nearly 5 years, we have completed the task".
Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh emphasized: "The signing of the Paris Agreement is a great historical victory of our nation, leading to the liberation of the South and national reunification. It is a particularly important event in the diplomatic sector.
The former Vice President shared: "Today, we have peace, independence, unity, with the Party's guidelines of extensive international integration and the goal of building Vietnam into a strong, prosperous developed country, with diplomacy as the leading front.
I believe that, with the 50-year tradition and the experience of valuable historical lessons, the diplomatic sector will develop strongly, meeting the requirements of the country, and at the same time, be worthy of the trust of the Party, State and people. I wish the diplomatic sector to continue to develop with many achievements".
Previously, on August 7, the Office of the President issued Document No. 1053/TTr-VPCTN proposing that the Prime Minister consider and submit to the President to award the title of "Hero of Labor" to Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh to honor her great contributions in the field of foreign affairs, especially in the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Provisional Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the period of 1969 1976.
