Saigon Co.op Logistics Co., Ltd. is a unit directly under Saigon Commercial Cooperative Union (Saigon Co.op) in charge of cargo and logistics transportation in Ho Chi Minh City, currently employing nearly 200 workers (NLĐ). Every day, workers here divide goods packages for vehicles to transport to stores as required and receive salaries according to working hours.

Mr. Do Xuan Thanh - Deputy Director of Saigon Co.op One Member Limited Liability Warehousing Company - said that the unit is under great pressure in business, especially during the peak season when goods increase sharply but it is difficult to recruit workers.

Meanwhile, many workers want to work extra to increase their income, but the "uniform" salary payment mechanism has not been met, making low-income workers easily quit their jobs, causing personnel fluctuations. Therefore, the innovation of salary regulations according to position, capacity and work efficiency is urgent and suitable for reality.

Mr. Huynh Dang Khoa - Chairman of the grassroots trade union of Saigon Transportation Co., Ltd. Co. op - said that to build a new salary regulation, the grassroots trade union has consulted the salary payment of businesses in the same industry in the area and the opinions of employees. Most employees agree with the option of receiving salaries based on capacity and work efficiency, because in this way, whoever works more and is good at work will receive more, there is no comparison with each other.

Although according to the provisions of law, salary payment will be decided by the employer, but to create consensus and avoid unnecessary disruption, the grassroots trade union of Saigon Co.op One Member Limited Liability Warehousing Company has proposed to the Company's Board of Directors to implement the "Coffee with leaders" model, with the theme "New salary according to productivity".

Reality at the dialogue on the "Coffee with Leaders" model held on May 14 shows that many opinions of workers are concerned about whether the calculation of labor productivity is specialized to each stage to create real fairness; previously, at peak times such as Tet, workers worked overtime and enjoyed high income, now implementing "contracted" salaries, what will the income be like... has been analyzed and answered satisfactorily by the Company's Board of Directors.

Ms. Tran Mai Phuong, an employee of the company's planning department, happily said that this way of organizing dialogue helps employees freely express their thoughts and aspirations.

Mr. Do Xuan Thanh said that through the "Coffee with Leaders" model, the Company's Board of Directors wants to create a close space for employees to directly share concerns when changing salary regulations.

The opinions and proposals at the program were received and completed by the Board of Directors to create consensus, contributing to improving productivity, increasing income and stabilizing labor.
