On January 5, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairman of Bao Thang Commune Trade Union, said that the grassroots trade union determined that taking care of Tet for workers is the key task at the end of the year, ensuring that union members are cared for and supported promptly to welcome a joyful and warm Tet.
In industrial parks, workers express excitement about the Tet activities of the trade union. Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, a worker at Bac Duyen Hai Industrial Park, shared: "Programs like "Tet Sum vay" or "Trade Union Tet Market" help workers reduce spending and have more joy when Tet is approaching.
Mr. Hoang Tuan Hai - Deputy Head of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Lao Cai province - said: "We are currently coordinating with businesses in the area to plan and organize year-end activities for union members and workers. These programs contribute to creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere, showing the concern and care of the Trade Union organization for union members every Spring.
According to Mr. Hai, this year the trade union will advise employers to organize Tet activities early so that union members and workers can feel secure in their work.
In the period 2023 - 2025, trade union levels mobilized over 6.3 billion VND of the "Trade Union Society" Fund, effectively organized programs such as "Tet Sum vay", "Workers' Month", "Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health". From this resource, hundreds of "Trade Union Homes" were newly built and repaired; models "Airfield stalls", "Trade Union Tet Markets" were widely deployed, bringing practical joy to workers in difficult circumstances. In the past period, the whole province has supported more than 435,000 union members and workers with a total budget of over 184 billion VND.
Lao Cai Provincial Trade Union currently manages 513 grassroots trade unions with over 41,000 union members. Directing and operating work continues to be innovated in the direction of decentralization, increasing the responsibility of heads, promoting the application of information technology, contributing to improving the quality of trade union activities. In industrial parks and economic zones, the Trade Union of industrial parks of the province and grassroots trade unions actively coordinate with businesses to care for the welfare of union members. The whole province has consolidated the network of occupational safety and hygiene at 298 enterprises; organized 25 propaganda conferences, attracting nearly 3,000 participants, contributing to building a safe and sustainable working environment.
