Ngu Hanh Son Ward Trade Union on August 2 said that it had just organized the "Day of developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions" in 2026 with the participation of leaders of the City Labor Federation, ward leaders, business representatives and a large number of union members and workers.
Speaking at the program, Chairman of Ngu Hanh Son Ward Trade Union Nguyen Van Minh said that developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions is a key task to improve the effectiveness of representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers. The expansion of trade union organizations creates conditions to implement many practical activities, accompanying workers at enterprises.
According to the leader of the Ward Trade Union, in the past time, the unit has promoted the review of sources for union member development, building a core force of union members, strengthening propaganda and mobilizing workers to join the Trade Union organization. At the same time, focusing on developing grassroots trade unions in non-state-owned enterprises, contributing to building an increasingly strong trade union organization.
At the festival, the Ngu Hanh Son Ward Trade Union announced and awarded decisions to establish 10 grassroots trade unions, admitting 369 union members to the Vietnam Trade Union organization. This result contributed to expanding the scope of activities of the Trade Union organization, improving the effectiveness of caring for, representing and protecting the rights of workers in the area.
Within the framework of the program, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes for the online Photo/Video Contest "Business Culture - Trade Union Accompanying" in 2026; propagating regulations on social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance and new points related to the rights of workers.
On this occasion, the Da Nang City Labor Federation awarded 7 scholarships to children of union members and workers who overcome difficulties and study well. Saigon - Song Han Eye Hospital also awarded 300 free eye exams and 30 free cataract surgery for union members and workers in the area, contributing to taking care of the health and improving the quality of life of workers.
