On the afternoon of September 23, the ceremony to receive union members and establish Trade Union groups directly under the Can Tho City Social Insurance Grassroots Trade Union (CĐCS) took place.
At the ceremony, the organizing committee announced the Decisions to establish the Trade Union Group and the Decision to consolidate the Trade Union Group directly under the Can Tho City Social Insurance Grassroots Trade Union.
Accordingly, 15 new Trade Union Groups were established, and 10 Trade Union Groups directly under the Can Tho City Social Insurance Grassroots Trade Union were consolidated. Thereby, the total number of union members of the City Social Insurance Grassroots Trade Union increased from 115 to 486 people (an increase of 371 union members).
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, City Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City, Chairwoman of the City Labor Federation emphasized that organizational consolidation must go hand in hand with innovation in operating methods.
According to her, the establishment of Trade Union Groups is not only for organizational completion, but more importantly, it must create a focal point close to union members, firmly grasp the situation, thoughts, aspirations and promptly reflect and propose to the grassroots Trade Union. Each Trade Union Group must truly be a place where union members come to when there is a problem that needs to be concerned and supported.
In addition, clearly define the functions, tasks and responsibilities of each group. Taking union members and workers as the center of Trade Union activities.
In addition, Trade Union activities must be associated with the political and professional tasks of the Social Insurance sector.
Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai also proposed that the Executive Committee of the grassroots Trade Union review the entire organization, union members, trade union officials and operating regulations; clearly identify what needs to be done immediately, what needs to be completed in the coming time, so that the consolidated apparatus operates smoothly, without leaving gaps in Trade Union activities.
