On the afternoon of October 25, Ms. Bui Thi Tuyet Hoa, Chairwoman of the An Nhon Town Labor Federation (Binh Dinh) said that the Organizing Committee for the establishment of the Quan Quang - Nhon Khanh Plastic Rattan Weaving Grassroots Union had held a Congress to establish the grassroots union.
This is the second union established in the area, making An Nhon the leading unit of the Binh Dinh Provincial Federation of Labor in mobilizing and gathering informal labor groups into trade unions.
In 2024, An Nhon Town Labor Federation was assigned the target of establishing a new union with 55 members who are freelance workers.
The new grassroots union has 30 union members who are workers at the Quan Quang Plastic Rattan Weaving Cooperative in Nhon Khanh commune. It has elected an Executive Committee for the 2024-2028 term, consisting of 3 members.
Ms. Do Thi Hoa - President of the union expressed that the collective of workers was very excited because for the first time they were able to participate in trade union activities and choose representatives to protect their legitimate and legal rights and interests.
An Nhon Town is a unit that has done well in developing union members and establishing grassroots unions of the Binh Dinh Labor Federation. According to Ms. Bui Thi Tuyet Hoa, since the beginning of the year, the unit has established 32 new grassroots unions, reaching 85% of the target assigned by the province; and has developed an additional 952 union members, exceeding the target by 40 union members.
