Article 58 of the Law on Social Insurance 2014 (currently in effect) stipulates the one-time pension upon retirement as follows:
Lump sum pension upon retirement
1. Employees whose social insurance payment period is longer than the number of years corresponding to the pension rate of 75% will receive a one-time allowance in addition to their pension when they retire.
2. The one-time subsidy is calculated based on the number of years of social insurance contributions higher than the number of years corresponding to the pension rate of 75%. For each year of social insurance contributions, it is calculated as 0.5 months of the average monthly salary for social insurance contributions.
Meanwhile, Article 68 of the Law on Social Insurance 2024 (effective from July 1, 2025) stipulates as follows:
Lump sum pension upon retirement
1. Male workers with more than 35 years of social insurance contributions and female workers with more than 30 years of social insurance contributions will receive a one-time allowance in addition to their pension when they retire.

In case an employee has met the conditions for receiving a pension as prescribed in Articles 64 and 65 of this Law and continues to pay social insurance, the subsidy level shall be equal to twice the average salary used as the basis for paying social insurance as prescribed in Article 72 of this Law for each year of payment higher than the number of years prescribed in Clause 1 of this Article from the time after reaching the retirement age as prescribed by law until the time of retirement.
