Average labor income in the second quarter of 2025 is 8.2 million VND/person/month

According to the Statistics Office, the average income of workers in the second quarter of 2025 is 8.2 million VND/person/month, an increase of 800,000 VND over the same period in 2024.

The Statistics Office has just issued a notice on the labor and employment situation in the second quarter and the first 6 months of 2025.

In the first six months of 2025, the labor force aged 15 and over was 53 million people; the employment rate was 51.9 million people; the unemployment rate among working-age people was 2.22% and the unemployment rate among working-age people was 1.72%.

The rate of trained workers with degrees and certificates in the second quarter of 2025 is 29.1%. In the first 6 months of 2025, the rate of trained workers with degrees and certificates was 29.0%, an increase of 1.0 percentage points over the same period last year, which shows that the quality of labor is gradually improving.

Employed workers in the second quarter of 2025 are estimated at 52 million people, an increase of 544,100 people compared to the same period last year. Of which, urban areas are 20.2 million people, rural areas are 31.8 million people.

In general, employment for workers tends to increase, but the labor market is not developing sustainably as the number of informal workers accounts for a large proportion. The number of informal workers in the second quarter of 2025 was 33 million, accounting for 63.5% of the total number of employed workers.

The average income of workers in the second quarter of 2025 is 8.2 million VND/person/month, down 58,000 VND compared to the first quarter of 2025 and up 800,000 VND compared to the same period in 2024. In which, the average income of male workers is 9.3 million VND/month, female workers is 7 million VND/month; the average income of workers in urban areas is 9.9 million VND/month, rural areas is 7.2 million VND/month.
