Many activities for union members and workers
On November 18, the Emulation Bloc of Trade Unions of Corporations and General Companies under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) held a conference to summarize emulation work and score emulation in 2024.
In the Railway industry, employees have an average income of 10.3 million VND/person/month (equal to 105.1% compared to the same period). In 2024, the implementation of labor laws, social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance will be guaranteed, with no collective labor disputes, strikes, or work stoppages.
For the Textile and Garment industry, the average income of employees reached 10.06 million VND/person/month (up 5% over the same period in 2023); labor relations were stable; the whole system did not have any collective work stoppages or labor disputes.
As for the Vietnam Coal and Minerals industry, the average income of the whole group reached 17.15 million VND/person/month, equal to 103.7% of the plan. Employees are basically provided with enough jobs, income is guaranteed, policies are fully implemented, their mindset is stable, they are assured of working and production, attached to the enterprise, there are no strikes or work stoppages...
No worker should go without Tet
Speaking at the summary meeting, Mr. Phan Van Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the bloc in 2024.
The Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor suggested that in the coming time, units in the bloc need to step up taking care of practical benefits for union members and workers, focusing on material benefits, spiritual benefits and political benefits that the Trade Union organization brings to union members.
Units need to review targets, speed up the implementation of unfulfilled targets, especially promote the development of union members, establish grassroots unions; and promote propaganda work among workers and civil servants.
Along with that, focus on performing well the function of caring for, representing, protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and employees; doing well the work of negotiating, signing and implementing collective labor agreements at enterprises, researching and signing collective labor agreements at the industry and group levels...
Mr. Phan Van Anh said that in the immediate future, the Trade Unions of the units in the bloc need to prioritize focusing on doing well a number of key tasks, including organizing activities to take care of Tet for workers at enterprises, corporations, and general companies; paying attention to taking care of the lives of workers, especially workers in difficult circumstances during the Lunar New Year 2025 with the goal of not letting any worker go without Tet.
