Hanoi focuses on implementing project to expand roads to 8-10 lanes

Hanoi - In November 2024, Thanh Tri district will hand over 100% of the land to construct the expansion of National Highway 1A, Van Dien - Ngoc Hoi section.

According to the report of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Thanh Tri district (Hanoi), up to now, there are still nearly 40 cases that have not handed over the land to implement the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 1A, Van Dien - Ngoc Hoi section (Km185-Km189).

In November 2024, Thanh Tri District People's Committee mobilized and enforced land recovery from households that had not yet handed over the site to implement the project.

Accordingly, for 18 cases in Ngoc Hoi commune that did not agree, the district organized forced land recovery on November 19 and 20.

For Lien Ninh commune, through propaganda and mobilization work, up to now there are only 18 households that have not received compensation and support and have not handed over the land.

Currently, functional units and working groups of Thanh Tri District People's Committee continue to visit each house to propagate and mobilize. If households still do not agree to receive compensation and hand over the land, the District People's Committee will organize forced land recovery on November 21 and 22.

The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 1A, Van Dien - Ngoc Hoi section (Km185-Km189) was approved for investment by the Hanoi People's Committee in 2010. The project is 3.8km long, passing through 4 communes: Tu Hiep, Ngu Hiep, Ngoc Hoi and Lien Ninh (Thanh Tri district).

According to the People's Committee of Thanh Tri district, the project implementation process lasted for many years due to difficulties in determining the origin of the land, incomplete updates in the management of land records for all land along National Highway 1A in the communes, and complicated land use origins of households and individuals.

In early 2023, the Hanoi People's Committee approved the adjustment of the implementation time of the National Highway 1A upgrading project, Van Dien - Ngoc Hoi section (Km 185-Km 189). Accordingly, the project implementation time will only be carried out until the end of 2024.

Therefore, Thanh Tri District People's Committee will take administrative measures to organize compulsory land recovery and hand over the site to the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board to complete the investment and construction of National Highway 1A in November 2024.

The project to upgrade and renovate National Highway 1A, Van Dien - Ngoc Hoi section, when completed, will have a cross-section of 46-56m, accommodating 8-10 lanes, synchronously connecting the southern traffic system of the city, creating momentum for Thanh Tri district to complete the project to build the district into a district, and communes into wards by 2025.
