In the afternoon of May 23rd, the Can Tho City Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) organized the Final Round of the 2026 Men's Football Tournament among union members and workers (ĐV, NLĐ).
This is a practical activity to celebrate the 136th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026); Workers' Month associated with the Action Month for Occupational Safety and Health in 2026 and to celebrate the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, term 2026 - 2031.
The football tournament is also an opportunity to respond to the campaign "All people practice physical exercise following the example of the great Uncle Ho" and "Day for the health of workers" in 2026. Thereby, creating a playground for union members and workers to show their talents; exchange and learn experiences and strengthen solidarity and attachment.
This year's tournament attracted 37 teams to participate, with nearly 700 athletes being union members and workers from units and businesses in the area.
The matches take place from May 16 to 23. The qualifying round is held in 2 areas including: Soc Trang ward and Cai Khe ward. The final round takes place in Cai Khe ward.
After days of exciting, attractive and dramatic competition, the Organizing Committee has found outstanding collectives and individuals to award prizes.
According to the results, the grassroots Trade Union (CĐCS) of TKG Taekwang Can Tho Co., Ltd. excellently won the Champion title, receiving cups, medals, flags and certificates of merit. Second prize belonged to the CĐCS of Lac Ty 2 Co., Ltd. with medals, flags and certificates of merit.
The two teams that tied for third place were the Grassroots Trade Union of Broad Peak Soc Trang Co., Ltd. and the Grassroots Trade Union of Can Tho International General Hospital S.I. S, awarded medals, flags and certificates of merit.
The Organizing Committee also awarded sub-prizes to individuals. Player Cao Quoc Cuong (Trade Union of TKG Taekwang Can Tho Co., Ltd.) won the Golden Boot title. The title of Best Player belonged to Huynh Tan Trang (Trade Union of Broad Peak Soc Trang Co., Ltd.); and Vo Nhut Anh (Trade Union of TKG Taekwang Can Tho Co., Ltd.) was honored as the Best Goalkeeper of the tournament.
According to the Can Tho City Labor Federation, the tournament is not only a place for exciting sports competition but also an opportunity to spread the spirit of "health to work and produce"; contributing to building a rich spiritual and cultural life among union members and workers.
