On November 13, Ms. Ho Thi Kim Ngan - Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor said that, based on the direction and guidance of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, 100% of provincial and municipal labor federations, central industry unions, and corporation trade unions under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor have proactively developed plans, coordinated, mobilized, dialogue, and negotiated with unit leaders, enterprises, employers, and socialized sources to organize the "Union Meal" in 2025 simultaneously nationwide, in accordance with the characteristics of each locality, industry, agency, unit, and enterprise.
According to statistics from the Labor Relations Department, 5,132 trade unions organized "Union Meals" in 2025, with the participation of more than 2.171 million union members and workers; the total expenditure for the "Union Meal" in 2025 was more than 148.714 billion VND.
Ms. Ho Thi Kim Ngan said that in 2025, the number of grassroots unions organizing "Union Meals" will decrease, but the average amount spent on a meal will be higher (68,500 VND/meal, compared to 50,300 VND/meal in 2024), the value and quality of meals will be significantly improved.
Some provincial, municipal and industry trade unions have implemented "Union Meals" in many grassroots trade unions with a large number of beneficiaries such as the Bac Ninh Provincial Trade Union with 508 grassroots trade unions corresponding to 253,383 people; the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union deployed in 416 grassroots trade unions with 223,829 people; the Hai Phong City Trade Union deployed in 295 grassroots trade unions with 172,905 people; the Dong Nai Provincial Trade Union deployed in 126 grassroots trade unions with 143,664 people; the Vietnam Bank Trade Union deployed in 554 grassroots trade unions with 95,157 people; the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union deployed in 77 grassroots trade unions with 93,917 people; the National Defense Trade Union deployed in 264 grassroots trade unions with 91,489 people.

In addition to the main activities of organizing meals, trade unions at all levels have integrated and organized many other meaningful activities for union members and employees such as giving gifts to union members and employees in difficult circumstances; giving moon cakes to union members and employees; congratulating and giving birthday gifts to union members and employees who have birthdays in the month; admitting party members, union members, establishing grassroots unions; giving "Union Shelters"; exchanging art, sports, traditional activities, organizing fairy tale games, lucky draw games, folk games...
The units have also focused on propagating the purpose and significance of "Union Meal" on media, on newsletters, internal websites, hanging slogans, billboards, posters with hundreds of very meaningful and widespread communication messages such as "Union Meal - Thank you to workers", "Union Meal - Building a positive and humane corporate culture", "Where there is a Union, there is affection and sharing"...
The vast majority of grassroots union officials and union members and employees consider the Union Meal not only a simple shift meal, with material care but also a great spiritual meaning, fostering solidarity, sharing and understanding among members of the organization.
Many reports from localities and sectors assessed: The 2025 "Union Meal" has demonstrated the mark and role of the Trade Union organization through dialogue and negotiation to bring better and higher benefits than the provisions of law to union members and employees. Many businesses support 100% of the value of the Union meal.
"And above all, through the "Union Meal", Resolution 7c/NQ-TLD dated February 25, 2016, Conclusion No. 03/KL-BCH dated January 18, 2022 of the Executive Committee of the General Confederation of Labor on improving the quality of workers' shift meals has been flexibly and skillfully applied by trade unions at all levels and has truly come into life" - Ms. Ho Thi Kim Ngan said.
