HUE - Ho Chi Minh City supported 20 billion VND to help Hue overcome the consequences of storms and floods, sharing difficulties with people in disaster areas.

On November 11, a working delegation of Ho Chi Minh City led by Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Ho Chi Minh City - arrived in Hue City to present 20 billion VND to support people to overcome the consequences of storms and floods in 2025.

The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai - Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee and Ms. Nguyen Thi Ai Van - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City.

Speaking at the reception, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc expressed his sympathy for the damage suffered by Hue people due to natural disasters; and affirmed that this support demonstrates the affection and responsibility of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City towards the people of the Central region.

On behalf of Hue City leaders, Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai expressed his deep gratitude and said that the funding will be allocated promptly and for the right purpose, helping people soon stabilize their lives and restore production after storms and floods.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City working group presented 300 million VND to repair Tay Loc Kindergarten; 200 million VND to support two households whose houses collapsed in Loc An commune; presented gifts to 78 poor households in Phu Xuan ward and 20 preschool children (each gift worth 500,000 VND and 1.5 million VND in cash).

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City awarded the "Golden Heart" certificate to recognize the noble gestures and affection of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City.

Millions of arms turn to compatriots affected by storms and floods

Consecutive storms and floods have caused many deaths, missing and injuries; many houses and production and business establishments have had their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage. People across the northern mountainous provinces and the central provinces are struggling to cope with floods and heavy losses in human lives and property due to floods and thunderstorms.
