HUE - The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded 1 billion VND in support to help union members and workers in Hue City overcome the consequences of storms and floods.

On the morning of November 10, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City to organize a program to provide support to union members and workers affected by storms and floods in 2025.

The program was attended by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; leaders of Hue City, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City.

At the headquarters of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, representatives of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor presented support worth 1 billion VND to help Hue City overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

Speaking at the ceremony, the leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor expressed their deep sympathy for the difficulties of the people and union members and workers in Hue City; at the same time, affirmed that the Trade Union organization will always accompany union members and workers in the locality in caring for and recovering after natural disasters.

After the program, the working group went to Victortex Hue Company Limited (Quang Dien commune, Hue city) to present 60 gifts of direct support to union members and workers severely affected by floods.

At the end of the program, the delegation visited and burned incense to the family of a union member who died in a flood in Vy Da ward (Hue city) to send words of encouragement and share the loss with the relatives of the victims.

The activity demonstrates the spirit of mutual love, social responsibility and sharing of the Trade Union organization with people in disaster areas.

Millions of arms turn to compatriots affected by storms and floods

Consecutive storms and floods have caused many deaths, missing and injuries; many houses and production and business establishments have had their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage. People across the northern mountainous provinces and the central provinces are struggling to cope with floods and heavy losses in human lives and property due to floods and thunderstorms.
