On June 25, the Long An Labor Federation held a conference to commend, reward and award scholarships to students who are children of union members and workers who overcome difficulties and study well in the 2024-2025 school year with a total value of nearly 600 million VND from the Golden Heart Social Support Fund of Long An Branch and socialized sources.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Pham Thi Quyen - Vice President of the Long An Provincial Federation of Labor - praised the excellent academic achievements of children of union members in the 2024-2025 school year; at the same time, she acknowledged and praised the contributions of trade unions at all levels in caring for children of employees and union members and hoped that trade unions at all levels would have more practical activities to care for them, contributing to the education sector to promote the movement of encouraging learning, encouraging talents and social learning.
Ms. Quyen said that from 2022 to present, every year from the Golden Heart Fund, the Long An Provincial Federation of Labor organizes awards, rewards and scholarships for children of union members and employees in especially difficult circumstances, high school students who have won prizes through national and provincial competitions for excellent students in cultural subjects; contributing to helping students have more determination to strive, overcome all difficulties to become useful people, contributing a lot to society. At the same time, thereby, the trust of the Trade Union organization is conveyed to the younger generation with the desire that students always know how to nurture their dreams and noble ambitions and persevere, determined to realize those dreams and noble ambitions.
The conference rewards 103 excellent students who are children of workers who won prizes in the excellent student competition, in which excellent students at the national level were awarded: first prize of 10 million VND, second prize of 7 million VND, third prize of 5 million VND and consolation prize of 3 million VND. Excellent students who win prizes in the provincial-level excellent student competition will be awarded: first prize of 3 million VND, second prize of 2 million VND and third prize of 1 million VND. Along with 151 scholarships for children of union members and workers who overcome difficulties and study well, 1 million VND/scholarship.
In addition, in the program, CEP microfinance Organizations in Long An province awarded 50 CEP scholarships with a total value of 105 million VND; and supported 1,510 notebooks to give to students in difficult circumstances attending the conference.
