On the morning of May 8, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology (KHCN) organized the Launching Ceremony of Workers' Month, Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026.
Attending the launching ceremony were Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Chairman of Vietnam Science and Technology Union Pham Duc Long; Vice Chairman of Vietnam Science and Technology Union Pham Quang Huong and 430 union members and workers representing nearly 83,000 union members of Vietnam Science and Technology Union.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Pham Duc Long said that the organization of Workers' Month associated with the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026 is of practical significance, the Vietnam Science and Technology Union proactively implements many specific programs and activities such as maintaining preferential programs, health care, equipping first aid medicine cabinets...; visiting and supporting union members in difficult circumstances, who have had labor accidents, and serious illnesses...
Mr. Pham Duc Long emphasized: "For trade union organizations, Workers' Month is not only a mass movement activity, but also an opportunity for each trade union level to listen to and understand workers and act more practically for workers. Faced with the requirements of the digital transformation process, trade union organizations must not only care for welfare, but also become a place to support workers to study lifelong, improve digital skills and adapt to the rapid changes of technology.
Vice President of the Vietnam Science and Technology Union Pham Quang Huong said that in 2025, the Vietnam Science and Technology Union creatively organized activities to care for union members and workers. In which, the highlight is giving vouchers to 450 union members and 20 gifts in cash and in kind to union members in difficult circumstances at the Launching Ceremony of Workers' Month, Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2025; trade union levels supported and visited 3664 union members with a total amount of nearly 4 billion VND; honored 219 typical workers in work, production labor and 71 outstanding trade union officials at the Ceremony to honor typical workers and Commend outstanding trade union officials with the theme "Journey of aspirations 2025"...
At the launching ceremony, the Vietnam Science and Technology Union proposed that affiliated trade unions continue to implement a number of key contents: Effectively implement activities of Workers' Month, Action Month on OSH; periodically meet, listen to and dialogue with workers; pay attention to caring for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers; continue to launch and widely and practically deploy the patriotic emulation movement among union members, workers, civil servants and laborers; continue to deploy activities in response to the emulation movement "The whole country emulates innovation and digital transformation" to successfully implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
At the ceremony, Mr. Pham Duc Long and leaders of the Vietnam Science and Technology Union and some affiliated trade unions directly presented 29 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, each gift worth 1,000,000 VND.
At the launching ceremony, the Vietnam Science and Technology Union deployed the Workers' Fair at booths, introduced and traded products at booths; provided health care advice, and guided registration for health care package services for delegates and union members and workers.
On this occasion, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded a Collective Certificate of Merit to the Tuyen Quang Provincial Post Office Trade Union, 1 Individual Certificate of Merit; the Vietnam Science and Technology Union awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives and 6 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Green - Clean - Beautiful, Ensuring Occupational Safety and Health" in 2025.
The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Science and Technology Union commended 30 individuals who are union members and workers who have made outstanding achievements in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation activities, in the period 2024-2025.
