The ceremony was attended by Mrs. Vu Thi Giang Huong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda Committee of the Vietnam General Federation of Labor; Mr. Tran The Dung - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Ha Tinh; Mrs. Phan Thu Thuy - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Labor Newspaper; leaders of the People's Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Tinh Province, and a large number of labor union officials in Ha Tinh through various periods.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Danh - Chairman of the Ha Tinh Labor Union recalled the history of the formation and development of the Vietnam Labor Union. Through 95 years, the Vietnam Labor Union has continued to grow and make significant contributions to the great victory of the revolution, and has played an important role in building a strong and prosperous Vietnam labor class.
In the current period of industrialization, modernization, and comprehensive and deep international integration, the role and position of the labor union have been increasingly confirmed and promoted.
To date, the Vietnam Labor Union has over 11 million members and over 123,000 grassroots labor unions representing over 52 million workers, which is an important factor and a decisive role in the development and prosperity of the country.
Along with the growth and development of the Vietnam Labor Union, the Ha Tinh Labor Union has developed rapidly in terms of both quantity and quality. To date, the Ha Tinh Labor Union system has developed to the district, commune, and ward levels, and to various agencies, units, and enterprises, with over 1,500 grassroots labor unions and nearly 71,000 members.
Over the past few years, the Ha Tinh Labor Union has closely followed the Party's guidelines, the State's policies, and the local authorities' tasks, and has implemented the work of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of laborers, and caring for their material and spiritual lives.
The labor union's movements, especially the "Excellent Labor, Creative Labor" and "Excellent Advice, Good Service" movements, have created a breakthrough and attracted a large number of labor union officials and workers to participate.
Through these movements, the labor union has made a significant contribution to the development of the local economy and society, and has confirmed its role and position in the political system, and has gained the trust of laborers and workers.
At the ceremony, the Ha Tinh Labor Union, on behalf of the Vietnam General Federation of Labor, awarded the Labor Union Merit Medal to many individuals from the Ha Tinh Labor Union.
The Organizing Committee also awarded prizes to the Ha Tinh Labor Union Singing Festival. In which, 1 First Prize, 3 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes, 9 Encouragement Prizes, and 4 Special Prizes were awarded.
To mark the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Labor Union and the 95th anniversary of the first issue of the Labor Newspaper, the Labor Newspaper and the Ha Tinh Labor Union jointly organized a writing and reporting contest on workers, labor unions, and laborers in Ha Tinh in 2024.
Within 3 months, the contest received active participation from many journalists, contributors, labor union officials, and laborers in Ha Tinh.
As a result, the Organizing Committee received 55 works, selected, edited, and published on the Labor Newspaper's online edition 46 works.
Through these works, the image of workers and laborers was vividly depicted as being hardworking, struggling, and creative in their work, and as being optimistic and confident in their lives when supported by the labor union. The image of dedicated and caring labor union officials was also highlighted.
At the prize-giving ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes, and 8 Encouragement Prizes.
Among them, the First Prize was awarded to the work "Everyone chooses a light and easy job, sacrificing for someone" by author Phan Khac An, which wrote about the sacrifices, hardships, and dangers faced by forest rangers in Ha Tinh.
