According to a report from the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ), from June 8-14, trade union levels continued to promote care for the lives of union members and workers, and at the same time implemented many key tasks on organization, union member development and building a strong trade union organization.
The highlight of the week is the activity of awarding houses of gratitude to union members in difficult circumstances. The grassroots trade union of Luong Quoi Coconut Processing Co., Ltd. coordinated with the Board of Directors of the enterprise to organize the handover of 6 "Comrade Love" houses, with a total budget of 480 million VND.
In the total construction cost, the Company's Board of Directors supported 240 million VND, the rest was contributed by mobilized sources. The new houses help union members stabilize their accommodation, reduce difficulties, and create motivation to feel secure in working and long-term attachment to the business.
In addition, the grassroots Trade Union of Alliance One Garment Co., Ltd. organized visits and support for 46 workers with terminal illnesses, poor and near-poor households and particularly difficult circumstances with a total budget of 58 million VND, contributing to sharing difficulties with workers.
The grassroots trade union of Ben Tre Import-Export Joint Stock Company also organized Family Day with many activities for officials, employees and children of employees. The program has a total budget of 455 million VND, creating a cohesive atmosphere in the enterprise.
During the week, the Provincial Labor Federation newly developed 177 union members, established 5 grassroots trade unions; and at the same time guided procedures to support the construction of "Great Unity" houses for union members from poor and near-poor households. The activities continued to affirm the practical companionship and care of the trade union organization for workers.
Currently, the Provincial Labor Federation is managing: 05 Commune and Ward Trade Unions; 640 grassroots trade unions, grassroots trade unions with 176,970 union members/184,799 workers.
