On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Mr. Do Van Chien expressed his joy and excitement when joining the delegates to attend the National Humanitarian Monkey Ceremony in 2025 organized by the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee in coordination with the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; At the same time, the event has a deeper meaning, when our Party and State have successfully organized a solemn celebration of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, reunification of the country and we are aiming to celebrate the 135th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh - the founder and the honorary president of the Vietnam Red Cross.
Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien stated that caring for the poor, the disadvantaged, and those affected by war, natural disasters, and diseases is a major and consistent policy of our Party and State and is a unique cultural value of the Vietnamese people "love others as you love yourself".
With the tradition of "unity, humanity, and affection", the Vietnam Red Cross Society, established by Uncle Ho in 1946 has affirmed its role as a core organization in the cause of humanity, closely associated with the development of the country, always towards the people, for people with noble love and affection.
“For nearly 80 years, the Vietnam Red Cross has become a reliable bridge between the Party, the State and organizations and individuals in the political system and the weak, people in extremely difficult circumstances. The spreading part is widely the value of kindness in the whole society ” - Mr. Do Van Chien affirmed.
Emphasizing that our country is entering a new era - the era of building a rich and prosperous country, bringing prosperity and happiness to the people, in the context of many advantages but also facing many difficulties and challenges such as climate change, natural disasters, epidemics..., Mr. Do Van Chien suggested that the Vietnam Red Cross Society should continue to innovate its thinking and methods of operation, closely follow reality, closely connect with vulnerable groups, ensure the principles of humanitarian activities are professionalism, transparency, and rich in humanity.
The Vietnam Red Cross Society will strongly promote its core role, position and prestige in the new situation; continue to clearly affirm the Association's particularly important role in mobilizing, connecting and coordinating social resources, especially from the business community, organizations and individuals, to work with the Party and State to effectively implement social security policies, care for people in difficult and disadvantaged circumstances, victims of natural disasters, epidemics and other emergency situations" - Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien hopes.
Mr. Do Van Chien suggested that the Association should continue to proactively apply science and technology, digital transformation, develop smart humanitarian platforms; build a team of dynamic, dedicated volunteers, and stay long-term with humanitarian activities; promote the mobilization of social resources in a diverse, professional and transparent manner.
According to Mr. Do Van Chien, the Association needs to expand health care activities for the people, through activities such as voluntary blood donation, registration of donation of tissues and organs; first aid training; implementation of clean water and community sanitation programs; regular support activities for people with no longer working capacity, lonely elderly people, people with disabilities...
It is necessary to actively expand international cooperation, effectively connect with domestic and foreign organizations and individuals, deploy early forecasting models, early intervention, and quick response to promptly support the community in all situations. Gradually build a humanitarian foundation to adapt to the general trend of the world, contributing to building an inclusive society, no one is left behind" - Mr. Do Van Chien suggested.
On this occasion, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front, Mr. Do Van Chien called on departments, ministries, branches, agencies, unions, enterprises, collectives, and individuals at home and abroad to continue to support funding, material, and spiritual resources, together with the Vietnam Red Cross Society, to effectively carry out humanitarian activities, especially in the national humanitarian month of 2025.
