Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, working at a factory in Quang Chau Industrial Park, shared: Street congestion often causes workers to go to work 30 minutes earlier so as not to be late for the timetable. If it is late, it will affect the bonus for the whole month.
Mr. Nguyen Van Toan - another worker - said that normally it only takes about 30 minutes to get to work, but due to traffic jams, it usually takes him nearly an hour. "There were days when the traffic jams were too long, I had to walk a long distance before I could get back to work" - Mr. Toan said.
Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Trung Thanh - Captain of Traffic Police Team No. 3, Traffic Police Department of Bac Ninh Provincial Police - said that the Hanoi - Bac Giang expressway service road through Quang Chau Industrial Park often experiences congestion due to the large traffic volume during rush hour.
"Tens of thousands of workers enter and exit Quang Chau Industrial Park in the early morning and late afternoon, leading to traffic congestion. In addition, the transport infrastructure around the industrial park has not yet met the demand. The Hanoi - Bac Giang expressway service road is still small, and the routes around the industrial park have not been opened despite the plan" - Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Trung Thanh added.
According to the reporter's investigation, on June 25, 2025, Foxconn - a large-scale FDI enterprise in the area also issued a document requesting the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province to resolve the serious traffic congestion at the Quang Chau Industrial Park service road.
Strengthening solutions for management and investment in transport infrastructure
Faced with the above situation, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province Pham Van Thinh has assigned the Department of Construction of Bac Ninh province to study the plan to install additional lighting systems, signs, and traffic guidance lines at the entrances and exits of the overpass and the gateway to Quang Chau industrial park.
Arrange additional signs prohibiting construction vehicles and container trucks from carrying goods during rush hour, and prohibit street vending on the roadsides and sidewalks in industrial parks and nearby service roads.
Plan points and areas for picking up and dropping off passengers for spontaneous workers' vehicles.
Mr. Thinh also assigned the Management Board of Industrial Parks of Bac Ninh province to study the proposal to allow Fukang Technology Company to open 2 additional side gates for passengers connecting to the road in the industrial park.
The Department of Construction of Bac Ninh province and the Management Board of Industrial Parks of Bac Ninh province are responsible for reporting the above contents to Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province Vuong Quoc Tuan before July 20, 2025.
Meanwhile, Bac Ninh Provincial Police are responsible for directing the traffic police force and Nenh Ward Police to increase on-duty, direct traffic during rush hour, and install additional surveillance camera systems at underpasses to have a basis for handling (increasing fines) for violations.
