Having been honored at the Vinh quang Vietnam 2025 program, Mr. Pham Dinh Duan - Labor Hero, Deputy Head of Production Control Department, Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company, Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation - considers this an important milestone, adding motivation for himself to continue striving in labor and production.
Sharing about the changes after being honored, he said that the title is not only personal pride but also a motivation to continue to compete in labor production, have more initiatives to improve working conditions and ensure safety for workers.
From February 2026, Mr. Duan was transferred by the unit to work at the Production Control Department. In the new position, he takes on the task of receiving information from workers at the scene, summarizing arising issues and reporting to leaders for timely handling.
At the beginning of June 2026, Mr. Duan was honored to attend the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union. At the program, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung exchanged and discussed with delegates attending the congress, with the theme "Vietnam Trade Union accompanies the Government to improve labor productivity, achieve double-digit growth goals", Mr. Duan expressed his opinion on the content of improving national labor productivity from the perspective of workers.
According to Mr. Duan, Vietnamese workers are assessed as hardworking, intelligent, eager to learn and capable of quickly adapting to changes in production.Reality shows that many Vietnamese workers, when working in a modern environment, are well-trained and equipped with advanced technology, can achieve productivity equal to workers in developed countries.Many foreign businesses highly appreciate Vietnamese workers.
He also said that while the average income of the company is about 22.7 million VND/person/month, his own income is from 35 million VND/month or more.That result is proof that if workers have a sense of striving, work in a favorable environment and have appropriate incentive mechanisms, both productivity and income can be improved.
Academic prestige and international cooperation are enhanced
After 5 years since being honored in the Vinh quang Vietnam program, Ho Chi Minh City National University continues to affirm its role as the leading training, research and innovation center in the country. The school is gradually shifting strongly to the research university model, promoting inter-disciplinary training, talent training and postgraduate training associated with scientific research; prioritizing strategic fields such as artificial intelligence, data science, microchips - semiconductors, biotechnology - biomedicine, energy and advanced materials. Towards 2030, Ho Chi Minh City National University aims to become a research university system in the group of 100 leading higher education institutions in Asia.
