Aspiration to narrow the development gap between regions
As a child born and raised in Yen Bai, who worked in Lao Cai and is currently holding a position at Thai Nguyen University, Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Van Hung clearly understands the difficulties that the region is facing. He believes that one of the key solutions for sustainable development in this region is to invest heavily in education - improving people's knowledge, training high-quality human resources, to gradually narrow the development gap between regions.
As a regional university, Thai Nguyen University has played a central role in training, research and technology transfer to serve 14 provinces in the midlands and mountainous areas of the North - home to more than 12 million people, of which more than 50% are ethnic minorities.
Most of the graduates at Thai Nguyen University have promoted their knowledge of practical production, management and life, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the region in particular and the country in general.
Not only training, Thai Nguyen University also provides effective policy advice and implements many scientific topics and technology transfer programs to serve rural agricultural development, contributing to poverty reduction and improving people's lives.
The establishment of 2 branches of Thai Nguyen University in Lao Cai, Ha Giang and in the coming time in some other localities has affirmed the university's important role and position in carrying out national political tasks, developing the socio-economic development of the "fence" of the country.
With all that, along with my professional passion, I always want to stay long-term and contribute to the education career in the midlands and mountainous areas of the North - where I was born, raised and always struggled to contribute to narrowing the gap in knowledge between regions, realizing the aspiration for sustainable development of the country - Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Van Hung emphasized.
Towards innovative, creative and integrated universities
In all strategic orientations of Thai Nguyen University, the factor of "taking learners as the center" is always given top priority, with the goal of building a comprehensive, humane, modern and integrated learning environment.
Educational is not only about imparting knowledge but also opening up thinking, practicing skills and fostering a sense of responsibility to the community. Students, especially those from remote areas and ethnic minority areas, need to be given the best conditions for comprehensive development and be fully equipped with the right provisions to enter the world" - Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Van Hung emphasized.
From that orientation, Thai Nguyen University has implemented many scholarship programs, financial support, organized soft skills training courses, and vocational counseling for students in disadvantaged areas.
In the new period, Thai Nguyen University aims to develop into a digital university, a green university and a center for innovation and start-ups nationwide. Gradually perfect the regional university governance model in a modern and integrated direction; build a streamlined, effective, efficient and capable management apparatus with the ability to create development, meeting the requirements of socio-economic development and ensuring national security and defense in the midlands and mountainous areas of the North.
In particular, the captain always aspires to build Thai Nguyen University to become an organic part of the socio-economic development strategy of Thai Nguyen province and the region, creating a quality training and scientific research foundation, contributing to the sustainable development of the country.
