On July 22, employees of Yupoong Vietnam Co., Ltd. have not returned to work.

This is the fourth day of collective work stoppage with 1,250 workers participating in the work stoppage out of a total of 1,793 workers asking the company to increase the regional minimum wage higher than the 140,000 VND level as announced by the company.

The Labor Confederation of Dong Nai province, the Trade Union of Bien Hoa Industrial Park and the interdisciplinary working group of Bien Hoa City and Dong Nai province have continuously worked with the Board of Directors of Yupoong Vietnam Co., Ltd. The interdisciplinary working group requested the company to consider and negotiate a reasonable minimum wage adjustment in accordance with legal regulations and invite employee representatives to dialogue, negotiate and explain to employees. understood.

However, up to now, the company still maintains the regional minimum wage adjustment of 140,000 VND/person/month.

Through work, the company presented that there were no orders, so the company could not further adjust the minimum wage for employees.

On July 22, the Dong Nai Province Labor Confederation also directed the Trade Union of Bien Hoa Industrial Park to continue monitoring the situation and propagandizing workers to stabilize their jobs to ensure security and order in the area.

The interdisciplinary working group requested the company to notify workers to return to normal work tomorrow (July 23).

Fourth day of collective work stoppage

Previously, on July 18, 400/1,793 workers of Yupoong Vietnam Co., Ltd. stopped working collectively after information about the regional minimum wage adjustment according to Decree 74/2024/ND-CP dated June 30, 2024.

The company will adjust new workers according to the regional minimum wage, while other employees will adjust an additional 140,000 VND to their basic salary effective from July 2024. However, workers requested an increase of 280,000 VND according to Decree 74/2024/ND-CP dated June 30, 2024 of the Government.

By July 19, about 1,500/1,793 workers of Yupoong Vietnam Co., Ltd. stopped working collectively.

On July 20, workers continued to stop working.
