Caring for the lives of union members
The Thai Nguyen Provincial Labor Federation was established under Decision No. 3692 of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Accordingly, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Labor Federation was established on the basis of merging the Thai Nguyen Provincial Labor Federation and the Bac Kan Provincial Labor Federation.
The whole province currently has over 154,000 union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers. In the past period, the work of caring for the lives and representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers has been carried out with many practical activities.
Annual programs such as "Tet Sum vay", "Workers' Month", "Trade Union Home" have promptly supported thousands of workers in difficult circumstances. From there, affirming that the Trade Union organization is truly a reliable support, a "common home".
Over the past 3 years, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Trade Union has developed 159 more grassroots trade unions, admitted over 37,776 union members; 4,272 outstanding union members were introduced to join the Party.
Emulation movements are maintained in the direction of linking with productivity, quality and technical improvement. The "Good Labor - Creative Labor" movement recorded more than 17,800 initiatives being applied, bringing in a value of trillions of VND.
In particular, care activities shifted from individual support to sustainable welfare. Thai Nguyen Provincial Trade Union has mobilized over 250 billion VND for care work, and 131 billion VND to support Tet for over 378 thousand union members.
504 "Trade Union Meals" programs came to workers; 102 "Trade Union Homes" supported workers' families in difficult circumstances; 68 welfare programs cooperated with businesses, helping to reduce living expenses by 10-50%.
The whole province organized 905 dialogues at the grassroots level; 502 labor law inspections; participated in inspecting 78 businesses on occupational safety and health and investigated 40 labor accidents. These activities have contributed to preventing disputes, reducing the risk of work stoppages and creating an effective policy feedback channel, ensuring stable psychology for workers in the spirit of "harmonious resolution, ensuring rights and maintaining production".
Collective bargaining continues to make strong progress when more than 82% of enterprises with grassroots trade unions sign collective labor agreements. The agreements become binding welfare standards, helping to adjust salaries, working hours, allowances and many rights related to social welfare on a legal basis.
Workers are the center
Ms. Do Thi Hien - Chairwoman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Labor Federation said that the positive results achieved in the past time are an important foundation for the Thai Nguyen Provincial Trade Union to continue to ensure harmonious labor relations, take care of sustainable welfare and improve the quality of human resources.

With the trust of workers, civil servants, and laborers; the concern of the Party Committee; the companionship of the government and the business community, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Trade Union will continue to promote its core role in protecting, connecting and accompanying workers.
From there, contributing to the implementation of socio-economic development goals and building Thai Nguyen into a modern industrial center, with a civilized and sustainable working environment" - Ms. Hien said.
Faced with high work intensity and pressure on workers' lives, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Trade Union determined to implement a direct approach, considering sticking to the grassroots level as a principle, dialogue as the focus, and collective bargaining as the foundation for regulating labor relations.
In the coming period, Thai Nguyen Provincial Trade Union levels set a goal to comprehensively innovate the content and methods of operation in a practical and effective direction. Strengthen digital transformation in directing and implementing tasks; strongly orient activities towards grassroots levels, taking union members and workers as the center.
Focus on developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions. In particular, continue to perform well the task of caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.
By the end of the 2025 - 2030 term, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Trade Union strives to develop an additional 45,000 union members, with an average annual increase of about 9,000 union members.
From 85% or more of grassroots trade unions are eligible to perform well their representative roles, negotiate and sign collective labor agreements in accordance with legal regulations. 100% of grassroots trade unions apply information technology and implement digital transformation in operations.
Every year, over 90% of union members and workers are propagated and disseminated the Party's guidelines, policies, and laws of the State related to labor and trade unions.
An important highlight in the 2025 - 2030 term, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Trade Union identified 3 breakthroughs to create development momentum.
First, promote innovation, apply science and technology, promote digital transformation in trade union activities, production and business, and perform professional tasks.
Second, promote dialogue and collective bargaining, focusing on salaries, bonuses, working hours, rest hours, and occupational safety and health.
Third, focus resources on promoting union member development and establishing grassroots trade unions. This is a key task to expand the scope of representation and consolidate the position and strength of the Trade Union organization in the new situation.
