Mr. Nguyen Van Manh - a button-making worker at a garment enterprise in Ninh Binh, said that he is very hopeful that this Congress will come up with practical solutions to enhance the representative role of the Trade Union organization.
The male worker hopes that at least 3/4 of the members of the trade union executive committee will have a starting point as workers to better understand the work, thoughts and aspirations of union members at the grassroots level. He also hopes that trade union officials will be closer to workers throughout the working process.

Each week, trade union officials representing the chain or team should arrange at least one meeting of about 30 minutes to listen to issues arising in work and promptly reflect to business leaders. Only then can the difficulties of workers be resolved quickly, helping everyone feel secure in working and sticking with the business for a long time," Mr. Manh shared.
According to him, currently many workers' petitions have to go through many levels from team leaders, managers to business leaders, so it takes many days, even weeks to be processed.
Therefore, he hopes that the Congress will have solutions to increase the initiative for grassroots trade union officials, helping to solve workers' problems quickly and more effectively.
One of the contents that Mr. Manh is particularly interested in is working hours and overtime. He hopes that in the coming time, grassroots trade unions will have a stronger voice in negotiating issues related to working hours, ensuring the health and rights of workers.
The male worker also hopes that the union's care activities will become more and more diverse and widely deployed.
In addition to supporting difficult cases, he hopes that practical programs such as the Trade Union Fair will be organized at more businesses so that workers have the opportunity to buy goods at preferential prices, and at the same time have more activities to improve spiritual life.
Also looking forward to the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, Ms. Tran Thu Huong, a grassroots trade union official in Ninh Binh, also expressed many expectations for the team of trade union officials in the coming time.
Female trade union officials wish to have more cash reward mechanisms for trade union officials with outstanding achievements or useful initiatives in trade union activities.
According to her, this will be an important motivation to encourage creativity, spirit of responsibility and enthusiasm of grassroots trade union officials.
Another recommendation sent by Ms. Huong to the Congress is to consider appropriate policies for part-time trade union officials.
To make the work processed faster and more effectively, Ms. Huong also hopes that grassroots trade union officials will be given more initiative in solving arising problems.
According to Ms. Huong, the process of receiving, considering and resolving workers' petitions needs to be simplified, shortening processing time so that workers can soon enjoy legitimate rights.
The sincere expectations and proposals of Mr. Nguyen Van Manh and Ms. Tran Thu Huong are also the common voice of many union members and workers who are looking forward to the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress with faith and expectation.
