Trade union organization - a bridge to bring workers into the Party
Developing party members in FDI enterprises has encountered many difficulties in recent times. Many business owners have not yet properly recognized the position and role of party organizations and unions in non-state enterprises. Some employees are hesitant because they cannot arrange time to participate in study sessions, to grasp resolutions, and to attend regular meetings and activities of party cells.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan - Secretary of the Hai Ha Industrial Park Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Hai Ha District Labor Federation, Quang Ninh Province - said: "Currently, the Hai Ha Seaport Industrial Park Party Committee has 5 subordinate Party cells with 59 Party members. Party committee members have to take on many tasks, so a specialized officer in charge of office and finance is needed.
Currently, there are no allowances for the Party cell secretaries and deputy secretaries. The District Labor Federation has proposed to consider supporting a part of the expenses as for the village and residential area secretaries. The local Party Committee and authorities are working with the District Labor Federation to find ways to resolve these difficulties. Another difficulty is that workers work 8-10 hour shifts per day, so propaganda work faces many obstacles.
Faced with the above reality, recently, the Standing Committee and the Executive Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Federation of Labor Party Committee have issued many documents directing trade unions at all levels to review, monitor, and discover outstanding union members and workers to introduce to the Party for consideration, training, and admission. In particular, the target of the number of union members discovered, introduced, and admitted each year is set at least 2,000 party members.
Quang Ninh Provincial Federation of Labor also strengthens coordination with the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board, the Provincial Youth Union, departments, branches, and local Party committees in implementing propaganda and mobilization activities to establish grassroots party organizations and develop party members among workers in enterprises in industrial parks and industrial clusters in the province; directs trade unions at all levels to coordinate with professional staff to open classes to foster awareness of the Party, monitor and assist workers in the process and procedures for admitting party members.
Currently, the locality has over 400,000 employees, of which over 75,000 work in non-state enterprises with trade unions, accounting for 60% of the workforce directly managed by the Provincial Federation of Labor. From 2020 to present, 8,484 union members and employees have been introduced, trained and admitted to the Party.
Spreading examples of Party members who are workers
Not only stopping at policies or numbers, Party members who are workers and employees have been promoting efficiency, pioneering and leading roles in production in many companies and enterprises. Young Party member Chiu A Sang of the Party Cell of Ngan Ha Technical Technology Company Limited is one of them.
With a degree in Information Technology, in 2018, Mr. Sang was recruited to work at Ngan Ha Technical Technology Company Limited as an electronic technician. Due to the nature of his work, he directly interacts with workers, so he understands their hardships. He has researched and developed good management software, new ideas and initiatives, then coordinated with colleagues with expertise and skills to implement useful initiatives for workers.
In 2023, Mr. Sang was admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam and participated in activities at the Hai Ha Industrial Park Party Committee. He proudly said: “Joining the Party is a turning point, a memorable milestone in my life. Along with the honor and pride, I myself feel that I need to try and make more efforts to contribute to the development of the enterprise, to be a source of inspiration for other union members and workers to follow...”.
Mr. Bui Minh Thanh - Permanent Vice President of the Quang Ninh Provincial Federation of Labor - said: "To develop the Party among union members and workers, we hope that local Party committees and professional propaganda will help business managers understand and voluntarily strive to join the Party; thereby creating consensus to establish Party organizations in enterprises".
