On August 13, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) had a working session with the People's Committee of Tan Hai ward on the implementation of a housing project for workers and laborers in the area.
In the working session, Tan Hai Ward People's Committee introduced to the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation about a public land area of about 25ha in Phuoc Thanh neighborhood, currently managed by the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Regional Land Fund Development Center Branch.
Through this, the parties exchanged and discussed the feasibility of the land area, planning standards, urban green space, as well as reviewed the legal procedures related to the allocation and lease of public land funds.
Currently, arranging resettlement land and housing for workers is an urgent issue, especially in the context that industrial, seaport, and logistics projects in Ho Chi Minh City are developing strongly.
Therefore, delegates agreed that it is necessary to carefully consider the possibility of combining arranging resettlement land funds to serve site clearance, in parallel with the development of rental housing, lease-purchase housing and housing for workers on this 25ha land area.
At the same time, the study of land exploitation needs to be considered in the overall urban development plan. Thereby realizing the project of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, contributing to ensuring social security, and acting as a lever to promote the progress of other key projects.
Previously, at the end of May 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in developing rental housing for workers and laborers in the city with businesses, in order to meet the housing needs of about 40,000 workers and laborers. In which, the social apartment complex project is expected to be implemented in Tan Hai ward with a scale of about 6,000-7,000 apartments for rent and lease-purchase.
