Accordingly, Hanoi Social Insurance requires medical examination and treatment facilities to coordinate in implementing the following contents:
For people with chronic diseases who have lost medicine due to floods and storms, when coming for a follow-up examination, medical facilities need to proactively provide medicine for the new treatment period, even in cases where patients arrive earlier than the follow-up appointment date. The minimum time for drug provision is 2 months so that patients have enough treatment drugs and stabilize their health;
For cases where patients come for examination beyond the time limit stated on the re-examination appointment paper or referral paper before the time of the storm or flood, the City Social Insurance requests that the facilities receive and ensure health insurance benefits for patients in accordance with regulations;
Hanoi Social Insurance also noted that some medical facilities still require patients to present health insurance cards with a new version of the document to be settled for benefits, which is not in accordance with regulations. According to Article 37 of Decree No. 188/2025/ND-CP, health insurance participants can present information about the health insurance card in many forms: citizen identification card, level 2 electronic identification account (VNeID) with integrated health insurance information, electronic health insurance card, paper health insurance card or health insurance code;
In case the patient has problems with health insurance examination and treatment procedures or health insurance card information, Hanoi Social Insurance recommends that medical examination and treatment facilities closely coordinate with the social insurance appraiser assigned to be in charge of the unit to promptly resolve the issue, ensuring the legitimate rights of health insurance participants.
With specific and timely instructions, Hanoi Social Insurance will accompany people to overcome difficulties caused by natural disasters, ensuring that medical examination and treatment work is continuous and timely, without interruption in treatment for patients.
