On October 18, people reported that at Km10+800 of Provincial Road 204A, from Truong Ha Commune to Thong Nong Commune (Cao Bang Province), the road surface had many large cracks, a section about 10m long had a deep drop, creating a high edge that was clearly different from the roadbed.
At the scene, the asphalt surface was peeling and deformed; vehicles had to move slowly, many motorbikes had difficulty crossing this section. Mr. Ban Giao Quay, a resident of Thong Nong commune, said: "I took my wife and children here by motorbike and was very busy, my wife and children had to get out and walk to get there".
Immediately after the incident, the authorities put up ropes and warning signs, and at the same time limited traffic through the area to ensure safety.

According to statistics, the road system of Cao Bang province has a total length of more than 7,440km, including 714km of national highways and more than 1,000km of provincial roads (60 routes).
After two storms No. 10 and 11, many roads in the area were eroded with positive and negative slopes, causing traffic disruption. Along with that, many sections of the road surface are seriously damaged.
It is estimated that the whole province has about 3,000 landslides on the positive slope with more than 770,000 m3 of rock and soil, along with 83 landslides on the negative slope about 2,100 m long.
The Department of Construction of Cao Bang province has directed the Road Maintenance Management Board and related units to urgently inspect, count the damage, and deploy temporary remedial measures such as tree planting, alluvial forests, fences, and setting up warning signs in dangerous areas.
At the same time, coordinate with local authorities to organize propaganda, arrange guards, and guide traffic, to ensure safety for people and vehicles.
