5 Apple products that may be discontinued

Here are some products that users probably won't be able to buy from the Apple Store after the next introduction in October.

Apple is expected to hold its next product launch event in October, focusing on iPads and Macs. But with new products, it also means saying goodbye to old ones. Here are some of the products you probably won't be able to buy from the Apple Store after the event.

M3 MacBook Pro

Apple is expected to launch new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros in October, featuring M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chips. Aside from the chip upgrades, the new MacBook Pros won't have major design changes. However, it's likely that the base model will start with 16GB of RAM.

M2 Mac mini

Apple is also expected to introduce a redesigned Mac mini with a smaller form factor, front-facing ports, and more. Apple last updated the Mac mini in January 2023 with the M2 and M2 Pro chips. This update is expected to bring the M4 and M4 Pro chips.

M3 iMac

The iMac is also getting a refresh, upgrading from the M3 chip to the M4. It's expected to be a minor update, but it's possible that the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad will switch from Lightning to USB-C.

iPad mini 6

Apple is expected to update the iPad mini after three years, with a new chip that supports Apple Intelligence, possibly the A18. The iPad mini is expected to support the Apple Pencil Pro and the base version will have 128GB of storage.

iPad 10

There are conflicting rumors about whether the new base iPad will launch in October. Analyst Ross Young says the base iPad display will ship this month, suggesting a spring launch.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said a few weeks ago that there would be "new low-cost iPad models" launching in October, suggesting both the base iPad and the iPad mini will be refreshed.

It remains to be seen what Apple's plans for the iPad are, but if Gurman is to be believed, the iPad 10 could be discontinued next month to make way for the iPad 11.
