Adobe and OpenAI collaborate
Adobe and OpenAI have just announced a set of photoshow applications, Adobe Express and Acrobat integrated right in ChatGPT via apps SDK.
This combination allows users to edit photos, create designs, and process documents directly in the chat window without opening their own software.
The apps are available for free in countries that support apps for apps. apps for free are outside the European Union (EU) and the UK.
Users just need to enter a command starting with Adobe photoshop, Adobe Express or Adobe Acrobat, then describe the request.
With Express and Acrobat, users need to log in to their Adobe account, while photos can be used without logging in. However, files created in ChatGPT will not be synchronized to your Adobe Creative Cloud account.
This integration opens up the ability to reach more than 800 million ChatGPT users, while turning the chatbot into a multi-purpose application in line with OpenAIs orientation.
Previously, Adobe, many platforms such as Canva, figma, Coursera, Tripadvisor, Spotify or instacart have connected to ChatGPT through the SDK application.
Adobe highlights competitive advantages as Firefly AI models are trained on licensed data and commercial safety, which is a major difference in the context of many competitors facing copyright-related lawsuits.
The company believes that the appearance of ChatGPT does not reduce the need for original software but also creates an opportunity for users to access before moving to the full-feature version.
According to Adobe, Acrobat and Adobe Express currently have more than 700 million monthly active users, and expanding through third-party platforms will continue to boost growth.
Key features in ChatGPT
- Photoshop for ChatGPT allows users to edit photos, refine brightness, change wallpaper, edit each area and apply effects such as Glitch, Glow... without reducing the quality of the photos.
- Adobe Express for ChatGPT supports fast design creation, background changes, photo changes, add dynamic effects and access professional model libraries.
- Acrobat for ChatGPT allows users to upload and edit PDFs, compress files, convert formats, extract tables, and merge multiple documents in a conversation.
Adobe said it will continue to add the feature in the near future. The company also confirmed that it does not train its AI model using user data.
Whether or not to agree to let OpenAI use the data depends on the choice in the privacy section of each account.
