Amazon has just introduced Lens Live - a new AI-powered shopping tool on the Amazon Shopping app, allowing users to explore products directly from the real world.

With Lens Live, customers can point their phones at any object to search for corresponding products. The screen will display suggestions in a round that can be strewn at the end, making it easy for users to compare and select. They can also touch it to get the features, add the product to the shopping basket or save it to the wish list.

The new tool is integrated with AI Rufus shopping assistant, providing a summary of the product, suggesting questions and detailed information for buyers to do quick research before deciding. Lens Live also takes advantage of the advantage when users are shopping at real stores, supporting price comparison and finding better deals on Amazon.

According to Amazon, Lens Live operates thanks to Amazon SageMaker and Amazon OpenSearch services managed by coaches, helping to deploy machine learning models on a large scale. This is the next step in the group's AI application strategy, after tools such as AI product assessment, personalized shopping assistants or clothing size finding tools.

Currently, Lens Live is being tested on iOS for tens of millions of customers in the US, before expanding to a wider range. Amazon has not yet revealed plans to bring this feature to international markets.
