The project, code-named Jayhawk, is expected to integrate a microphone, speaker, camera and color display on one side of the eye.
In parallel, Amazon has also developed another version of AR glasses specifically for delivery drivers, code Amelia. This glasses model focuses on productivity, helping to shorten delivery time, and is expected to be ready in the second quarter of 2026.
If it is officially launched, Amazon will face Meta directly - a company that has already had a smart glasses in cooperation with Ray-Ban.
Meta is also expected to introduce a new product called Hypernova at the Connect conference next week, aiming for a realistic AR experience with a similar one-sided display design.
This move shows that Amazon does not want to stand aside from the increasingly heating up AR technology race.
With rivals like Meta or Apple taking a strong step forward in the field of wearables, Amazon's entry into the market could create more competition and expand enhanced reality apps, not only in entertainment but also in work and daily life.
