According to journalist Mark Gurman's report, Apple is once again considering making money from the Apple Maps app with search advertising.
Currently, the company has applied this form on Apple News and Stocks apps, aiming to promote internal advertising business.
This is not the first time Apple has considered this idea. Gurman revealed that a few years ago, Apple researched integrating search advertising into Apple Maps.
Accordingly, businesses can pay for their restaurant or location to appear higher in search results - similar to how Google Maps works.
Now, this idea is being discussed by Apple once again. In a recent meeting, the ability to make money from search advertising was mentioned, including helping some locations appear more prominent on the map.
There is currently no specific roadmap for implementing ads on Apple Maps, and the technical development process has not yet begun. However, Apple is clearly seriously considering how to approach this model.
Apple's consideration of adding search advertising to Apple Maps could open up a new source of revenue for the company, while making it easier for businesses to reach customers.
However, this also raises many questions about user experience and fairness in search results. Can Apple balance commercial benefits and user convenience? This will certainly be a topic of interest as the company moves closer to implementing this idea.
