New updates say Apple will only provide OLED screens for 4-inch and 16-inch high-end MacBook Pro models using M6 Pro and M6 Max chips, while the 14-inch base model with the standard M6 chip will continue to use mini-LED screens.
The leaked source said that Apple is developing a MacBook Pro line smaller-d design, touch support and OLED screens, focusing on two versions using the M6 Pro and M6 Max chips.
Currently, the MacBook Pro line is divided into standard versions using conventional M-series chips, while higher-end versions use Pro and Max chips with more CPU/GPU factors, greater memory bandwidth and the ability to support multiple external screens.
Thanks to that, the Pro and Max models are suitable for high-performance jobs such as filmmaking, graphic design or 3D.
The decision to only issue OLED screens to high-end models is considered reasonable with Apple's product layering strategy.
However, experts say that lower-priced models will also be upgraded soon in the future, as Apple plans to bring OLED technology to the MacBook Air line, although it will have to wait until at least 2028.
The newly designed MacBook Pro OLED models are said to be ready to launch in late 2026 or early 2027.
