Along with the iPhone 17 launch event, Apple has introduced a new generation of smartwatches including three models: Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch SE 3, and Apple Watch Ultra 3.
Of which, Series 11 and SE 3 are the two most popular products because they target the general user group.
New points on Apple Watch Series 11
Apple Watch Series 11 brings some notable upgrades. Notably, the Sleep Score feature helps users track the quality of their sleep every night.
These mobile versions also support 5G connection, allowing the watch to access data directly without an iPhone.
In terms of durability, Apple affirms that the Series 11 has a scratchproof screen twice as strong as the Series 10, making the device safer for everyday collisions.
The battery has also been improved with a 24-hour battery life and up to 38 hours in Energy Saving mode.
An important addition is the high blood pressure warning feature, although not yet approved by the FDA, which can become a useful tool for users at risk of high blood pressure.
This feature is combined with familiar health tools such as ECG, measuring blood oxygen, making Series 11 a more comprehensive choice for health care.
However, the Apple Watch Series 11 still retains many parameters from the Series 10, such as using the same S10 SIP chipset, W3 chip, second-generation Ultra Wideband chip and Retina LTPO3 screen always turned on with 2,000 nits brightness.
Comparison with Apple Watch SE 3
Meanwhile, the Apple Watch SE 3 is positioned as a low-cost watch model, aimed at basic users. SE 3 is smaller (40mm or 44mm), has a less bright display (1,000 nits) and does not support a always-on display.
In terms of features, the SE 3 is significantly cut with a lack of ECG, blood oxygen measurement, water temperature sensor and second-generation Ultra Wideband chip.
The battery life is only 18 hours, lower than the Series 11. In addition, the SE 3 only has two color options: Star aluminum and Midnight aluminum, while the Series 11 is more diverse with many aluminum and titanium versions.
Which model should you choose in 2025
The difference between the two watch models shows Apple's clear positioning.
The Apple Watch Series 11 is suitable for those who want a comprehensive device, focusing on health, durability and high-end experience.
In contrast, Apple Watch SE 3 targets customers who only need basic features such as notification, mobility tracking, and affordable prices.
In 2025, if budget is not a problem, Series 11 is definitely a better choice, especially for those who care about their health.
But for users who only need a basic smartwatch, SE 3 is still a reasonable, compact and cost-effective solution.
