On the afternoon of September 18, Mr. Mai Son - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province - received and worked with Samsung Group led by Mr. Kim Yong Sup - Deputy General Director in charge of foreign affairs of Samsung Vietnam - on exchanges and cooperation in the field of information technology and STEM training.
The Samsung Innovation campus (SIC) program of Samsung Group has been implemented since 2019, providing technology capacity development courses for Vietnamese students, including: Connecting devices (IoT) course; Artificial Intelligence (AI); Big Data and Basic Programming skills course.
In Bac Ninh province, Samsung Vietnam has implemented the IOT course through STEM education and implemented the "School of Hope - Samsung" Program for a number of secondary and high schools in the province.
Based on the local proposal, Mr. Kim Yong Sup hopes that the Bac Ninh provincial government will coordinate with Samsung Vietnam Group to develop a plan to implement training courses for students studying at Bac Ninh Industrial College and Bac Giang Vietnam - Korea College of Technology.
The Group will survey these two schools directly, see the scale and training methods, thereby orienting training for teachers and students in the school to meet the development requirements of the locality.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Mai Son - Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province - said that Bac Ninh province is developing a Project "Developing STEM education in preschool and general education institutions in Bac Ninh province, period 2025-2030 with a vision to 2035".
After being approved, the province will synchronously deploy to secondary and high schools and increase the equipment, teaching equipment, training, coaching and fostering teachers according to the orientation of STEM education.
In the long term, the province wishes to establish a separate school of Samsung Vietnam Group to train high-quality human resources, meeting the requirements of technology development trends in the process of international integration.
In the immediate future, the province hopes that Samsung Vietnam Group will coordinate with the province in training students and teachers on information technology, semiconductor technology, and IOT at Bac Ninh Industrial College and Vietnam - Korea Bac Giang College of Technology.
At the same time, together with the Bac Ninh provincial government, improve the quality of vocational education and higher education to serve the spearhead industries, semiconductor industry, AI and digital industry in Bac Ninh province in the coming time.
