In his opening speech, Dr. Phan Van Hung - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper emphasized: In the digital age, data has become a "new resource", a driving force to promote innovation, develop the digital economy, digital society and digital government.
However, along with that, the risk of information security, personal data leakage, cyber attacks and national digital sovereignty violations are increasingly complicated. Protecting cybersecurity is protecting the independence, sovereignty and sustainable development of the country in the new era, Mr. Hung affirmed.
In reality, while huge amounts of data are created every day, every hour, the risk and risk of cyber attacks are also increasing equally. Just a small loophole can lead to major consequences, causing economic damage, affecting the reputation of the organization, and even threatening national security. Therefore, early identification of risks, building a strict legal corridor, investing in technology and developing human resources for cybersecurity are urgent and vital issues.

Delegates at the seminar agreed that data protection is not simply a technological issue, but a common responsibility of the whole society. Many opinions suggested completing the legal corridor soon, investing in technology infrastructure, and focusing on training high-quality cybersecurity human resources. Cyber security needs to be viewed as a "digital shield" to protect national sovereignty, along with ensuring the privacy and legitimate interests of people and businesses.
The seminar took place in the context of Vietnam preparing to host the Opening Ceremony of the Convention against Cybercrime called the Hanoi Convention, marking the first United Nations legal document on criminal justice to be adopted in 20 years. This is considered an important milestone, affirming Vietnam's active role and international responsibility in building a safe, transparent and humane cyberspace.
With a high sense of responsibility, delegates hope that through the seminar, it will contribute to perfecting policies, raising social awareness, while promoting cooperation to protect national data, strengthening the trust of people and businesses and affirming Vietnam's position in the international community.
