Check keyboard connection
For detachable keyboards, the cause may be loose cables or USB ports.
How to do it: Remove the keyboard from the USB port → Plug it back in or switch to another USB port → Try the keyboard on another computer to check.
Restart the computer
Keyboard errors sometimes only occur temporarily due to Windows or software conflicts.
How to do it: Save the task being done → Select Start → Power → Restart → Check the keyboard after the machine starts.
Check Filter Keys
The Filter Keys feature can make the keyboard respond slowly or not accept operations.
How to do: Open Settings → Accessibility → Keyboard → Turn off Filter Keys if enabled.
Update or reinstall keyboard driver
Faulty or incompatible drivers can cause the keyboard to stop working.
How to do it: Open Device Manager → Select Keyboards → Right-click on the keyboard → Select Update driver or Uninstall device → Restart the computer to let Windows reinstall the driver itself.
Wireless keyboard battery test
If using a Bluetooth keyboard or wireless keyboard, a weak battery can make the device not work.
How to do it: Replace the battery with a new one or fully charge it → Check the USB receiver or Bluetooth connection → Reassemble the keyboard if needed.
Scan for viruses and malware
Some malware can affect the operation of the keyboard.
How to do it: Open Windows Security → Select Virus & threat protection → Perform a full system scan.
Hardware error check
If a few keys or the entire keyboard does not work after trying the above methods, the cause may be hardware.
How to do it: Try the keyboard on another computer → If it still does not work, you should replace the keyboard or bring the device to the warranty center for inspection.
