AI reshapes technology organizations
At the GitHub Universe event in San Francisco in late October, Jay Parikh, Executive Vice President of CoreAI of Microsoft, emphasized that artificial intelligence is having a profound impact on the way organizations operate.
Mr. Jay Parikh said that companies now have to learn and adapt to changes in human resource organization, product development, as well as the way they recruit and encourage workers.
The former Meta senior technical chief was recruited by CEO Satya Nadella to Microsoft last year. Parikh is currently in charge of CoreAI's engineering team, the core force behind the company's AI initiative, and oversees the GitHub platform.
The global wave of AI restructuring
The impact of generative AI is spreading globally, especially in the technology field. Many businesses such as Amazon, Salesforce or Walmart have cut thousands of jobs, mostly due to AI automation.
A study by Stanford University shows that young workers, especially in the field of programming and customer support, are most affected.
The fact that AI takes on jobs that have been done by humans is raising the question: "Is this technology helping to save costs, or is it causing the workforce to lose opportunities?"
According to Jay Parikh, the answer is still unclear, but reality shows that more and more large corporations are actively applying, investing and assessing the business impact of generative AI.
"This is a sign that the scale and structure of their workforce is changing, if not significantly changed," Jay Parikh said.
Microsoft promotes AI in GitHub
Since ChatGPT was launched, Microsoft has strongly integrated AI tools into the GitHub ecosystem, which has more than 180 million developers.
This platform is now expected to become the center of AI agents, a tool capable of automating processes, writing code and handling complex tasks.
Jay Parikh commented: "The role of a programmer will change completely. AI will help them focus on creativity, ideas and problem solving faster.
According to him, these superpowers will open a new era where humans and AI work together to innovate, rather than compete.
