In the context of increasingly fierce competition between digital content platforms, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan affirmed that he is not worried that competitors like Netflix may attract prominent creators to leave.
Speaking in a recent interview with the media, Mr. Mohan said that YouTube still plays a central role in the content creation ecosystem.
Mr. Mohan emphasized that even when other platforms seek to attract personnel, YouTube is still where creators choose to stick for a long time.
Referring to the fact that some famous podcasts such as "The Breakfast Club" or "My Favorite Murder" have switched to Netflix, Mr. Mohan said that he considers it a sign that competitors are seeing YouTube as a cultural center of content.
However, this does not change the nature of the relationship between YouTube and creators.
YouTube CEO affirmed that in live exchanges, many famous YouTubers see this platform as their "home".
I have never met anyone who completely removes content from YouTube," Mr. Mohan said, while saying that cooperation decisions with other platforms are usually only supplementary.
According to Mr. Mohan, even when expanding to other streaming services, creators still maintain their presence on YouTube for long-term benefits. This helps the platform continue to maintain its position in the global digital content race.
