OpenAI continues to maintain a strong update speed. The company recently announced an expansion of access to ChatGPT Search.
After launching to users to pay fees last fall, then expanding for all free accounts at the end of 2024, OpenAI now allows anyone who uses ChatGPT Search without having to log in or create an account.
"Like the experience when logging in, ChatGPT can search the web and provide quick, accurate answers associated with links to reliable sources," OpenAI said.
In most cases, ChatGPT will automatically look up the latest information from the internet to answer users' questions. In addition, users can also proactively request a chatbot to search online by clicking on the button "Search" right under the input bar.
This announcement shows that OpenAI is gradually challenging Google's dominance in the search sector.
As ChatGPT becomes an increasingly effective information search tool, the competition with Google and other competitors will become increasingly intense.
The question now is not only whether ChatGPT Search can replace Google, but also how OpenAI will continue to shape the future of online search.
