According to Techcrunch, Sunny Sethi's company develops high-performance fire extinguishers, which are said to help increase fire fighting efficiency by up to 300% and reduce water consumption by about 67% compared to traditional equipment.
The idea originated from his own personal experience. After moving to California (USA), Sethi's family continuously faced major forest fires. The turning point came in 2019, when his wife and young children faced the risk of evacuation due to forest fires while he was on a long business trip. From then on, Sethi decided to apply his experience in nanotechnology, materials and energy to solve the fire fighting problem.
In June 2020, HEN Technologies was established in California. With the support of the US National Science Foundation, the company researches liquid dynamics to accurately control the size of water droplets, speed and wind resistance of nozzles. The result is a more concentrated and stable water flow, helping to extinguish fires effectively even when the flow is constant.
From the nozzle, HEN expands to valves, pressure control devices and intelligent flow control systems. These devices are integrated with sensors and microcircuits, allowing data collection on pressure, water flow, weather and locations during firefighting. Data is uploaded to the cloud platform, supporting field command to monitor water supply status, warn of water shortage or changes in wind conditions.
According to Mr. Sunny Sethi, the lack of connection between the water supply system and firefighters has made many fires more serious because fire trucks suddenly do not have enough water. HEN's platform aims to solve this bottleneck, while creating a basis for analysis and forecasting applications in emergency response.
After launching products on the market from the second quarter of 2023, HEN was quickly welcomed by fire departments. Revenue increased from 200,000 USD in the first year to 5.2 million USD in 2025, with about 1,500 fire departments being customers. In 2026, the company aims to achieve revenue of 20 million USD.
Currently, HEN supplies equipment to many US military units, government agencies, NASA and exports to 22 countries. The company has also just completed the Series A funding round worth 20 million USD, raising total mobilized capital to more than 30 million USD. According to the founder, HEN's next step is to commercialize the artificial intelligence integrated software platform, taking advantage of the actual data collected from fire situations to improve future forecasting and incident response capabilities.
