This statement was made after the service disruption on social networking platform X on May 24. Speaking on the platform, Elon Musk said he is "returning to work 24/7" and sleeping in meeting rooms, servers and factories to focus on upcoming critical technologies.
The incident occurred on X so tens of thousands of users in the US could not access the service. According to the Downdetector page, the time to record the highest number of errors was about 19h51 on 24.5 (Hanoi time), with more than 25,800 reflections. However, by about 23h09 on the same day, the number of errors has decreased to less than 650. Not only American users, residents in many other countries such as Germany, Spain, France, India, Canada, Australia and England also encountered similar problems when accessing X.
X did not immediately respond to Reuters' request for comment on the incident.
In his post, Elon Musk said he needs to focus specifically on key technology projects, including X, artificial intelligence company xAI and electric vehicle company Tesla, in addition to plans to launch the Starship next week.
Elon Musk's announcement of a return to the high-intensity workforce comes amid concerns from investors about spending too much time on political activities and distracting him from key businesses. Last month, Elon Musk pledged to reduce working hours at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to 1 to 2 days per week from May, to reassure investors.
Elon Musk spent nearly $300 million to support the presidential campaign of Donald Trump and Republican politicians last year. However, his political stance has led to a wave of protests against Tesla in the US and Europe, affecting sales, with the result being the first time Tesla has recorded a decline in annual deliveries.
Elon Musk's announcement of a 24/7 return to work is seen as an effort to reaffirm his commitment to the operations of the companies he is running, in the context that many large technology projects are entering an important implementation phase.
