According to sources from Ice Universe, Samsung is expected to significantly reduce the selfie camera hole on the outer screen of the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
Accordingly, the camera hole diameter will be reduced from 3.7mm on Fold 7 to 2.5mm on the new generation. When placed next to each other, the difference is quite clear, helping to optimize more display space and make the "mouse" less visible.
However, the question is whether this change is really important? From the perspective of actual users, Galaxy Z Fold 7 is still a good device, but there are still many points that need to be improved. Issues such as heat management, battery life,... are all factors that should be prioritized for upgrading first.
Of course, Samsung is capable of improving many items at the same time. But in the context of the smartphone industry continuously progressing, users expect the company to focus more on core issues, rather than minor aesthetic changes.
Therefore, shrinking the camera hole may be a plus point, but it is difficult to consider it a "worth-money" upgrade if major limitations have not been resolved.
