Google upgrades Vids
Google has just announced a notable upgrade for the video creation application Vids, focusing on simplifying the content production process using artificial intelligence.
The highlight of this update is the ability to control avatars through text commands, helping users easily create videos without in-depth editing skills.
Instead of manually creating animations for characters, users now only need to enter descriptions in natural language.
For example, they can ask avatars to demonstrate products, interact with the environment, or perform a specific action, and the system will automatically create the appropriate scene. This approach significantly shortens video production time.
Google said that avatars still maintain image consistency throughout the video, even when performing many different actions.
This is especially important for business content or brand building, where professionalism and consistency play a key role.
Not stopping there, users can also deeply customize the appearance of characters, costumes as well as the setting.
All are implemented through text suggestions, helping to increase flexibility without complicating the creative process.
Integrating AI to create videos and audio
Along with the avatar feature, Google also integrates the Veo 3.1 video creation model into Vids. This tool allows users to create short video clips about 8 seconds long directly in the editor.
Free users can create up to 10 videos per month, while premium packages such as Google AI Ultra or Workspace AI Ultra raise the limit to 1,000 videos.
In addition, the platform also supports audio integration thanks to tools such as Lyria 3 and Lyria 3 Pro, allowing to add background music and audio effects directly to videos without external software. This helps users create complete products in just one platform.
Optimize sharing and recording
Google also improved sharing capabilities by allowing direct video uploads to YouTube without pre-downloading. By default, the video will be in private mode for users to check the content before posting.
In addition, the Chrome browser extension helps record screen, audio or both, supporting the quick creation of tutorial videos, presentations or illustrative content.
With the new upgrade series, Google is gradually turning Vids into a comprehensive video production platform where users can create, edit and share content with just a few simple steps.
This is considered a strategic step in the increasingly fierce competition between AI-based content creation tools.
