Users can now convert static photos to 6-second videos, or transform photos in the anime, comic or 3D animation style.
All creative tools from AI to traditional editing will be gathered in a new the called Create on the Photos application. This is also where two new features appear: Photo to Video and Remix, in addition to existing tools such as creating collage photos or outstanding videos.
With Photo to Video, users select one photo, then choose one of two options: Subtle movements or Im feeling lucky and the photo will be converted into a short video using Veo 2 technology - similar to the feature that appeared on Gemini and YouTube Shorts.
The Remix feature uses Googles AI Imagen model, allowing users to choose any photo and immediately switch to new styles.
Both features are attached with hidden digital watermarks using SynthID technology to confirm that the product is created with AI.
Integrating AI tools into Google Photos not only makes it easier for common users to access new creative technology, but also opens a new era for how to preserve and recreate memories. Old photos can now be "revived" in a vivid, individual and artistic way.
Although still in the testing phase, the new features promise to change the photo and video editing habits of billions of users worldwide, while giving Google a huge data warehouse to continue improving AI technology in the future.
