As 2024 comes to an end, Google Photos has launched the "2024 Recap" feature to help users look back at photos from the past year.

The first part is the “Closing Memories” which is about 1 minute long and shows your photos and videos with fun graphics and cinematic effects. It also has background music.

It will record how many photos you took this year, along with the number of videos and total video time. Your 2024 year-end recap will also have insights, providing “fun and surprising things about your year based on the photos you took.”

These might include: Smiles of the Year to review how many smiles you captured this year and who you smiled the most with? Colors of the Year to record the colors you captured the most during the year. And Featured Faces will show the 4 people who appeared the most in your photos.

Like other "Memories," "2024 Recap" can be saved to your Google Photos library. You can also easily share your "2024 Recap" directly from Google Photos to your favorite messaging or social media apps.

"2024 Recap" is starting to roll out now. If you have notifications turned on, Google Photos will let you know when your "2024 Recap" is ready to view.
