Google integrates Gemini AI deeper into Gmail

Google has just introduced the Pronified Smart replies feature for the Gmail app, which uses Gemini artificial intelligence.

At the I/O 2025 event, CEO Sundar Pichai announced a series of new features using Gemini artificial intelligence, notably the "personalized Smart replies" feature for the Gmail application.

With user permission, Gemini can scan old emails and documents on Google Drive to prepare replies suitable for personal or work content.

On stage, Mr. Pichai gave an example of a friend planning to go through Colorado to Utah - the route he had experienced. Gemini can review old schedules in Google Docs, look up room reservation emails, then synthesize information and write a letter with the correct tone, words and usual style of the user.

In addition, Google also introduced a smart thu boxy cleaning feature. Users just need to make a natural language command like delete all un read emails from a specific company last year and Gemini will handle it in a flash. Another feature is making quick appointments, allowing customers to send free schedule recommendations so that customers can choose the right time directly from Gmail.

All of these features will start rolling out to Google Workspace users from this summer. However, despite the clear benefits, some users are still concerned about Gemini's increasingly deep intervention in personal space.
